Game report and post-game player interview video submitted by Central Dauphin Rams Girls Lacrosse Team.
The Central Dauphin Girls Lacrosse team improved to a record of 6-1 with a convincing 17-6 home win at Landis Field under the lights over Dover Area Lady Eagles out of York County.
The Lady Rams were able to overcome a defensive strategy aimed at taking one player out of the offense by using open lanes to take the ball to the goal. Marley Kostelec led all scorers with five goals, while Skyler Oken and Sarah Doherty each added four.
The Rams defense, led by an outstanding effort from senior midfielder Sadie Smith, was stifling. Senior goalie Caroline Reichelderfer stopped eight shots in picking up the win.
Collectively the team garnered 29 ground balls, allowing the Lady Rams to dominate time of possession.
The JV team was also dominant in a 7-0 win. Freshman midfielder Charlotte Tenny contributed two goals and five other players scored once. In their best effort of the year, the JV defense completely shut down the Dover attack, allowing only two shots on goal.
The Lady Rams play Penn Manor Lady Comets at the Central Dauphin High School field off of Piketown Road at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
