Rams upend Panthers in Four Diamonds baseball game

The third annual Four Diamonds on the diamond game took place Monday at Lebanon Valley College’s McGill Field and saw the CD High Rams outduel rival CD East High Panthers 8-0.

The Rams got on the board in the first inning scoring two runs when Scotty McManamon (3-4, 2 runs, RBI) singled home Cameron Scott, and Christopher Smith’s sacrifice fly plated McManamon.

Those runs proved to be all the offense CD would need with lights out Dylan Sims on the mound. Sims, earning his second win of the season, went six strong innings, striking out three while allowing only four hits.

Strong infield defense and great catches by outfielders Troy Schreffler and Logan Galloway helped the effort.

The Rams offense was far from done though. Carson Beleski’s towering three-run home run in the fourth inning added some insurance as did Christian Bate’s (2-2, 2 RBI) two out, two run single.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday at home against Mifflin County and Thursday again at home against Red Land. Both games begin at 4:15 p.m.
