I often say that some nights you’re just not going to beat a team of shooters. And tonight was one of those nights for coach Wayne Fletcher’s Rams. Lampeter-Strasburg came into Thursday’s opening round of the Elizabethtown Holiday Shootout looking for some revenge, and used three-point and free throw shooting to exact it.

The Pioneers drained seven 3s and went 15-20 from the stripe, on their way to a 62-49 win over the Rams, who’d beaten them just weeks ago in Lower Dauphin’s Falcon Tip-Off tourney. That win for the Rams was to take the title. This win for the Pioneers was to ensure the Rams wouldn’t take this one.

Lampeter-Strasburg was led by Zach Kingsley with 19 (three 3s), Chase Broderick with 14 (three 3s), and Seth Beers with 13 (6-6 FTs).

Ryan Smith led the Rams with 13, followed by Rance Russo (pictured above) with 12.

Prior to tonight’s loss, the Rams recorded six wins to start the season. They’re overall record is 6-1, and 4-0 in the Mid Penn Commonwealth conference.
