Lady Rams flip switch on high-scoring Williamsport squad

By Joe Gilloway

The Central Dauphin Lady Rams rode into Williamsport earlier this evening with the task of slowing down a Lady Millionaires team who could just flat-out score. Four games with 70+ points (and another with 68) in just twelve games is not an offensive output you’re used to seeing from a girls high school basketball team.

The Rams rode back out of town having flipped the switch on the Millionaires, with an offensive output which saw them on the good end of a 69-36, “everyone has fun” victory. The point total matched their season high, and should give them some much-needed confidence heading back to a Commonwealth schedule which resumes tomorrow night at rival CD East.

Senior guard Sam Gress led all scorers with a career-high 29, five of which came from behind the 3-point arc. She’d entered the game just 52 points shy of 1,000 for her career.

Freshman forward Caroline Shiery, who’s been finding her offensive groove as of late, was again in double-figures with 12. The sophomore 1-2 punch of Maddie LaFrance and Izzy Vogel each added 8.

The Lady Rams moved to 11-5 on the season.
