The Central Dauphin Rams met the Mechanicsburg Wildcats at Landis Field on Thursday night to take their record to 7-6 in the Mid Penn Conference, 9-7 overall.
Central Dauphin controlled play for much of the first three quarters, but Mechanicsburg played hard and the score stayed close. The score evened at 5-5 in the third quarter on a CD own goal off a failed defense to goalie hand off.
CD kept their composure through a very lopsided extra man ratio where Mechanicsburg was man up at least three times as much as the Rams.
The Rams got their rhythm late in the game and with five unanswered goals to finish out the game with a final score of 10-5.
Nick Koussis led all scorers with 5 G & 1A, Brenden Yingling had 2 G & 4 A, Max Anderson had 1 G, Kyle Mayberry 1 G and Derreck Hillman had 1 G.
The defense did a good job of controlling Mechanicsburg in 6 v 6 situations and David DeSousa played very solid in goal to help assure the win. Brian Madden got better at the faceoff x as the game went on and that helped CD control the game and the scoring.
CD next match up is at Cedar Crest on Monday May 7th at 4:00 p.m.
